That’s a little unsettling when you’re trusting it with your blog. And yeah, it’s using Yandex’s API, which is great if you’re targeting Russian-speaking audiences, but kinda niche otherwise.

Also, the lack of a download count or version number makes it feel a bit sketchy. Not enough to scare me off, but it’s not one of those 200k+ download wonders either. If you’re paranoid about security or long-term support, look elsewhere.

Bottom line

If you’re running a small blog and want basic social sharing that doesn’t slow things down, WP Ya Share for WordPress works fine. It’s free, easy to set up, and gets the job done without pretending to be fancy. Just don’t expect bells and whistles. For most people, especially those who don’t need a million options, it’s a solid choice - and definitely worth a try before you go full-blown with something heavier. Give it five minutes, see how it looks on your site. If it fits, keep it. If not, no harm done.
