The good stuff

The batch processing feature is a lifesaver. I had to convert 14 short videos from my drone into a single format for a client. Instead of doing them one by one, I dropped them all in, set the output, and walked away. Came back to a folder full of ready-to-use files. No fuss. Also, trimming and merging clips is smoother than I expected - no lag, no weird glitches. The interface isn’t flashy, but it’s clean enough that you don’t get lost. And hey, it actually handles HEVC files without choking on them, which is more than I can say for some free tools.

The not-so-good

It’s not perfect. There’s no timeline preview when editing - you have to play each clip separately to see changes, which gets annoying fast if you’re tweaking multiple parts. Also, the export options are decent, but not as flexible as Final Cut Pro or even iMovie if you want advanced settings like frame rate control. And yeah, it’s free, but there’s a watermark on exports unless you pay - which is fair, but still kind of a bummer if you’re just testing it out. If you need pro-level color grading or audio sync fixes, this isn’t the tool for you.

Bottom line

If you need a free, no-frills video editor for basic cuts, merges, format conversions, and compression on Mac, UniConverter for Mac - Download for Mac works. It’s not fancy, but it does what it says. You’ll save time compared to using half a dozen other apps. Just don’t expect magic. For casual users or people who need quick edits, it’s worth the download.
