The good stuff

The way it handles uncategorized posts is subtle but useful; they don’t just vanish, which avoids weird gaps in your listings. Also, it plays nice with SEO plugins like Yoast. I didn’t have to tweak anything to get clean URLs. And it works in any block area - not locked into widgets or sidebars. I used it in a custom header block, and it looked solid. Plus, it supports both inclusive and exclusive searches. That meant I could let users filter by “only houses with 2+ bathrooms” or “all properties except condos”. Super handy for niche sites.

The not-so-good

It’s free, but that comes with trade-offs. There’s zero documentation. You’re on your own figuring out how to customize the output. The settings are basic - no options to change labels or colors unless you hack the template. And since the developer’s unknown and downloads aren’t tracked, there’s no community or support. If something breaks, you’re stuck. Also, it doesn’t work with every theme. I had to tweak CSS once to fix spacing on a custom layout. Not a dealbreaker, but worth knowing. And if you’re running a big site with thousands of posts, this might lag under heavy load - no caching built in.

Bottom line

If you need dynamic category filtering on a small to mid-sized WordPress site and don’t want to drop $200 on WooCommerce or another plugin, this is worth trying. It does exactly what it says - multiple category selection via AJAX - and it does it cleanly. It’s not flashy, but it works. For the price (free), it’s a solid stopgap. Just expect to do some legwork if you want it to look perfect. And if you’re building something serious, go with a full-blown solution. But for most personal or small business sites? Yeah, grab it. It’s a quiet winner.
