Just Dance 2021 for Nintendo Switch

The good stuff

The song selection is solid. “Feel Special” by TWICE was a total crowd-pleaser - the choreography’s simple enough for beginners but still feels cool. The kid-friendly songs are a nice touch too; my niece danced through “Bibbidi-Bobbidi-Boo” like she owned the room. I also liked how easy it was to jump into co-op mode - six players can join using phones as controllers, which means no extra hardware. No one has to buy a dance pad or awkward motion sensor. The Just Dance Unlimited trial is a real bonus too - over 550 songs to play with, and you can make custom playlists. That’s way more than most rhythm games offer upfront.

The not-so-good

It’s not perfect. The camera tracking isn’t flawless - if you’re too close or move too fast, it loses you. I once got stuck in a loop because the game thought I was doing a different move. Also, the choreography for some songs is… aggressively basic. Like, “twirl left, step right, wave hand” - it’s fine, but after a few rounds, it starts to feel repetitive. And if you’re someone who only plays single-player, this might feel less engaging. It’s really built for groups. If you’re solo and want deep gameplay, you’ll probably get bored fast.

Bottom line

If you’re looking for a low-effort way to bring people together for a laugh and some movement, Just Dance 2021 on PS4 is worth the download. It’s not groundbreaking, but it’s reliably fun. Great for parties, family game nights, or just letting loose after work. You don’t need anything extra - just a phone, a screen, and the willingness to look silly. For that, it’s a solid pick. Just don’t expect a long-term grind. It’s here to make you sweat, not save your soul.
